Asymmetry, or one good (lan)tern does not lead to another.
The muddled impressionist image of a barn would be okay by itself. Indeed, the colors work nicely with this choice of colors of the sheets, and what looks to be a nice quilt. However, the entire effect is ruined by the two lanterns. But those were oil fueled lanterns, you would never hang them on the wall. That would be a fire risk. You would rest them on the table. But the real problem is the lack of symmetry More specifically, one lantern is wired up with a lightbulb inside, and the other is not. Additionally, the two lanterns don't look to be exactly the same.
